An Abundance of Support
It’s only been about two weeks since Violet and I let coaches all over the world know about our plans to travel to 52 cities in as many weeks. As of today (January 27, 2025), we already have 23 individual coach invitations to break bread together and/or be a guest in their home.
I am SO grateful to the outpouring of support already received. Humbling!
Seeing The World Though The Eyes of a Local
Think about what it would mean to spend an entire year inside various hotel rooms and eating out exclusively at restaurants. Sure, initially, that would be “fun”, but after a few weeks, I imagine it would become lonely and sterile. Besides, who wants to be a “tourist” for a full year? Especially when we’re lucky enough to know people all over the world.
If you’re reading this and see that we are either coming to (or close to) your part of the world (see below), I welcome you to suggest that we meet up in real life. Even if we’ve never met except on Zoom, I promise it will be more fun spending time with our coach friends than it will be hitting the “50 places to see before you die” monuments and exhibits.
Five Months Remaining to Organize This Trip
While Violet is leaving the bulk of the planning to me, there are many things still on my mind such as:
Securing the necessary Visas needed to enter into various countries
Upgrading our mobile phone plans to the most “global” options available
Packing extremely light - what’s the minimum we must travel with?
In addition, I’m excited to check out Trusted House Sitters to see if there are places where we might qualify along our travel route. And, of course, adjusting our itinerary (when possible) to accommodate the day-trips and side quest adventures some of our friends are inviting us into.
Deep Gratitude!
I’ll end today in deep gratitude for this outpouring of support. I suspect we’ll receive a few more invites as word slowly gets out about our adventures, but even if not there’s already been so many incredible invitations, Violet and I truly feel loved and appreciated. Thank you!
