Trusted House Sitters & Ultra Light Packing
In this fantastic episode, I have the pleasure of speaking with epic world traveler, Nathan Blah. I first met Nathan as my work colleague at Positive Intelligence. For more than a year now, Nathan has been traveling the world as a digital nomad. Who better to talk to about all his pro tips including pet sitting for others via Trusted House Sitters and the minimum clothing needed to get it all down to one carry-on bag traveling the world.
I'm in awe with Nathan's travel adventures and he's got me really excited for my own upcoming travel. I love knowing people like Nathan are in my life and totally willing to help me get the most out of our upcoming year-long travel adventure. Thank you, Nathan. You’re the best!
Hong Kong & Vietnam
I speak with Josianne Rob about planning our visit to Hong Kong and Vietnam. We discuss Hang Son Doong - The World’s Largest Cave and the week-long journey it takes to go through it with a guide. We also discuss WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) and the opportunity to work for awhile on a farm in exchange for room and board.
Most of all, I get to speak with Josianne on a personal level as I get to know her story and background leading into our in-person meeting coming up in about a year from now (i.e. March 2026).
This is my favorite part about the planning for my World Tour with my daughter Violet -- meeting amazing human beings virtually and spending time with them before we meet up in real life. It was such a pleasure speaking with Josianne Rob today.
Trans Day of Visibility & Getting to KNOW Violet Carmody
Here’s what Violet would like you to know about her. She sees herself as a person first and a transgender person second. Yes, you can ask her questions about what it means to be a transgender youth, as long as you take the time to get to know her as a person, ideally before then. In episode 11, Bill and Violet discuss International Trans Day of Visibility and some of the efforts we’re both making to raise awareness. Today, for example, in our UUCSR Youth Service, we raise money for the Trevor project and explain why this is the same cause we will be raising money for during our keynote at Google Ireland.
Overcoming Visa Challenges & Packing Light
When visiting 52 countries, one challenge you run into is all the Visa requirements for each country. We thought we had that part handled UNTIL we realized we needed a “full blank page” for many of the countries. As our current US passports only have 25 pages, that wasn’t going to work. Oh yeah, and when you apply for extra pages, your passport number changes!?! So we had to roll with this and start a little later than we were planning.
